Mountain
Timbers is a family owned business operating since April 1994.
Before
the current owner took over, the business was well known in the
local area as Shields Timber and Hardware. It was being
operated as a new and second hand timber and hardware
store.
The
current owner not only changed the name to Mountain Timbers, they
also changed the sales focus to supplying timber and builders
hardware direct to the building trade.
With a
staff of 5 back in 1994, the company has grown too, now employing
up to 15 permanent and casual employees and contractors. All
staff members have many years experience and knowledge in the
timber industry. Many changes have taken place, from site
improvements to changes in the products being supplied.
Hardwood used to be kiln dried, machined and gang nailed on
site, but the machinery has now been decommissioned
and replaced with up to date systems to cater for new
products. With big changes in the building industry to 'new
age' primed and engineered products new racking and loading
facilities to store these products have been installed.
As a
specialist supplier to the building trade we carry an extensive
range of timbers and associated building requirements to meet all
customers needs, with stocks of timbers from Hardwood, Cypress and
Pine, to F17, Treated Pine and Decking, also supplying prefab walls
and trusses. Mountain Timbers is also part of the roofing
options centres who specialise in poly carbonate and corrugated
iron roofing. The
Builders Hardware Department offers customers a comprehensive range
to choose from. This includes door furniture, power tools and
nail guns, insulation, silicon and adhesives, nails, bolts as well
as brackets and screws.
Mountain
Timbers deliver anywhere with a range of vehicles from ute, small
tip truck and up to our largest a 14 tonne crane truck.
We pride
ourselves on knowing our customers and their needs, combining
excellence in service with today's modern technology.
